Click here for a full list of hotels in Iasi. The properties listed below are a few that I’ve personally visited.
Web info: There are non smoking rooms, air conditioning, bathrobes, daily newspaper, desk in each of the hotel’s well-equipped rooms. For the comfort and convenience of guests, you’ll also find room service 24hr, elevator, bar/pub, laundry service/dry cleaning, meeting facilities on-site.
Leif’s take: I’m a little shocked by the lackluster description they give themselves above. The multilingual staff here will make you feel at home in this elegant hotel, designed by Gustave Eiffel (yeah, that Eiffel, he went on to design that thing in Paris you may have heard of). The high-ceiling rooms are awash in old-world comfort, with large, modern bathrooms and cable internet (wi-fi in the lobby only).
Web info: Each of the 52 rooms at this fine 3-star hotel feature superior amenities. All rooms have non smoking rooms, air conditioning, television, bathtub, shower as well as other amenities. Featuring room service 24hr, bar/pub, restaurant, business center, pets allowed, this Iasi hotel is sure to make each guest’s trip an enjoyable one.
Leif’s take: Just off the main square. Better than average rooms, though you pay a lot for location.
Web info: Whether on business or holiday, each of the 176 rooms at this 2-star property are designed help guests relax in comfort and style.
Leif’s take: I’m pretty sure that two star rating is way out of date. It’s a solid three star place. It’s also Iasi’s tallest and arguably best located building, offering good beds in bright, standard business-class rooms. There’s in-room cable internet and a PC in reception. The 13th floor restaurant has an international menu and the best views of the city.
Web info: Our Studios and Apartments bring you good value for accommodation in Iasi. Their facilities and location (Iasi City Centre – close to all sightseeing, nightlife, shopping) combined with lower rates than hotels means that you will simply get a better deal!
Leif’s take: Centrally located apartments, usually equipped with cable internet.
Web info: We offer you accommodation in studio flats classified as “2 stars” by the Ministry of Tourism. Situated in a very quiet area of the city, you will find it just like the comfort and privacy of your own home.
Leif’s take: Very central, just behind the Palace of Culture.

Str Sfantu Sava 1
Leif’s take: This is an excellent value, three-star option, that manages the amazing feat of being both centrally located and quiet, with its back street location a block southeast of the National Theatre. Some of the wood-furnished rooms have balconies. The a la carte breakfast is 20 lei per person.

B-dul Independentei Bl. D1-D2
Leif’s take: Simple but clean rooms, in a large building set back from the Boulevard Independencei. The entrance is around back. Beds are a bit unforgiving, and some of the single rooms are truly unpleasant, but the price/location and generous breakfast compensate.
Casa Bucovineana Hostel
Tel. +40 (0) 232 222 913
Cuza Voda 30
(all with shared bathroom)
Leif’s take: Recent renovations (and the ejection of the hookers) have made the rooms here more palatable. It’s still probably only for the stoutest of travelers, though. Some doubles have in-room showers. Breakfast not included.

Piata 14 Decembrie 1989
Leif’s take: Following the city-wide trend, the rooms here have been renovated (as well as the prices). Shared bathrooms are clean, private bathrooms are new and immaculate and well worth the extra money. Get a room away from the noisy street.

Str Otilia Cazimir 10
Leif’s Take: These hard-to-find apartments, lurking at the end of a tiny alley behind the giant Universitatea Petre Andrei building, serve as student housing during the school year. The simple, but modern rooms have cable internet. Breakfast not included.
