Leif’s take: I haven’t had the chance to visit this one yet, but my colleague did and loved the place, saying it was “restrained contemporary style, but everything about the place screams quality”. Let me know what you think.

Leif’s take: I’m a little shocked by the lackluster description they give themselves above. The multilingual staff here will make you feel at home in this elegant hotel, designed by Gustave Eiffel (yeah, that Eiffel, he went on to design that thing in Paris you may have heard of). The high-ceiling rooms are awash in old-world comfort, with large, modern bathrooms and cable internet.

That said, every nook of this 1908 Art Nouveau building has been beautified with stained-glass windows, crystal chandeliers and Italian decor. Whether you’re a guest or not, the glass-ceilinged day bar should be visited for a cup of coffee and 30 minutes of sheer elegance.
